Human Nature in Its Fourfold State

Thomas Boston (1676-1732)

A theological survey of the four conditions of human nature: primitive integrity before the fall, entire depravity after it, begun recovery in grace, and consummate happiness in glory. Published in 1720 and drawn from Boston's sermons, it became the most widely read Scottish Puritan work of the eighteenth century and shaped the doctrinal formation of generations of Reformed believers.
