A Puritan Catechism

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

Spurgeon's catechism for the instruction of his congregation at New Park Street Chapel, compiled primarily from the Westminster Assembly's and Baptist Catechisms and published in 1855. It covers the full range of Christian doctrine in 82 questions and answers, including scripture proofs for each, and reflects the Calvinist Baptist theology Spurgeon preached throughout his ministry. Simpler and more concise than the Westminster Shorter Catechism, it was intended as an accessible standard of Christian formation for both adults and children.
