The Heavenly Footman
John Bunyan (1628-1688)
John Bunyan urges the Christian to run the race of salvation with urgency, taking as his text the call to so run that you may obtain. He presents the directions and dangers of the spiritual race in plain, vivid language for ordinary readers. Written around 1671 and published after his death, the short work distills his lifelong concern that sinners press on to heaven without delay.
