The Baptist Catechism

Benjamin Keach (1640-1704)

A 118-question catechism written by the Particular Baptist pastor Benjamin Keach to accompany the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith. Closely modeled on the Westminster Shorter Catechism, it adapts the questions on baptism and church polity for Baptist practice while preserving the same Calvinist doctrinal content. It served as the primary catechetical tool of Particular Baptist churches in the seventeenth century and formed the basis for Spurgeon's Puritan Catechism nearly two centuries later.
